L’annonce officielle tant attendue a été faite ce 6 septembre 2017, lors d’une conférence de presse à Abu Dhabi réunissant la Ministre de la Culture de la République française S. E. Mme Françoise Nyssen, son homologue émirien S.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Ministre de la Culture et du Développement de la connaissance, ainsi que S. E. Mohamed Al Mubarak, Président de l’Autorité d’Abu Dhabi pour le Tourisme et la Culture (TCA) :

Le Louvre Abu Dhabi ouvrira ses portes au public le 11 novembre 2017 et célébrera cet évènement avec un programme de festivités : danses, concerts, projections, conférences et événements, donnés par des artistes contemporains et classiques de renom.

La semaine d’inauguration verra également deux événements prestigieux coproduits dans le cadre du Programme culturel franco-émirien.

The official announcement was made on 6 September 2017, during a press conference in Abu Dhabi, which gathered H.E. Mrs Françoise Nyssen, French Minister of Culture, her Emirati homologue H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development and H.E. Mohamed Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) : Louvre Abu Dhabi will open its doors to the public on 11 November 2017 with a wide range of public programmes, including symposiums, performances, concerts, dance, and visual arts by renowned contemporary and classical artists.

The inauguration week will also gather two prestigious events coproduced within the frame of the Emirati-French Cultural Programme.
